local beaches
There are many wonderful beaches to visit while staying in Norfolk the North Norfolk coastline is especially breathtaking. Some of our favourites are:
Holkham (30 minute drive from Park House)
This is the most spectacular of all our Norfolk beaches, situated opposite Holkham Hall down its own private drive. There are sand dunes and pine forests leading to the beach which is the most extensive and dramatic coastline in Norfolk, which is why it has been used many times in film production.
Brancaster (45 minute drive from Park House)
Brancaster beach is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with much of it being managed by the National Trust. It is a haven for bird watchers and walkers as it is especially rich in wildlife.
Wells next the sea (35 minute drive from Park House)
Wells next the sea has a beach fringed with pine trees and provides a beautiful walk to the flat expanses of Holkham Bay. The town itself is a hustle bustle of tiny streets lined with shops with the quay bursting with boats. French’s Fish ‘n’ Chips is a must while sitting on the harbour wall watching the world go by!
Stiffkey Salt Marshes (30 minute drive from Park House)
The salt marshes at Stiffkey are of particular interest to Cocklers and samphire pickers.
There is no real beach here just creeks meandering through mudflats.
